Article 3 Assessment Grades
The mid-term assessment results for master’s students are divided into four grades: A, B, C, and D.
A: Able to implement according to the planned schedule, with a full workload completed, and relatively good academic achievements obtained.
B: Able to implement according to the planned schedule, with the expected workload completed, and relevant achievements obtained.
C: Schedule implementation lags behind, the actual completed workload is relatively small, and no relevant achievements have been obtained.
D: Schedule implementation seriously lags behind, and no substantive progress has been made in the expected work.
Article 4 Mid-term Assessment Procedure
1.Students shall truthfully fill in the relevant forms according to the actual progress of their degree thesis work and submit them to their supervisors for review.
2.Colleges shall organize inspections of each student’s degree thesis work progress, with 100% full coverage, and assign assessment grades and relevant opinions.
3.Each college shall establish an inspection group, composed of no fewer than three master’s supervisors, with the group leader generally held by a professor. The inspection group shall conduct a preliminary review based on the mid-term inspection forms submitted by students, focusing on students whose work progress lags behind, and select no fewer than 10% of students to report their work progress in person in PPT format. The inspection group shall, in light of each student’s thesis topic, focus on examining the actual work progress and relevant achievements, and assign assessment grades and opinions/suggestions. For professional degree graduate students, the degree of integration between their research work and engineering application shall also be examined.
4.For theses rated C or D in the mid-term inspection, students are required to submit a detailed research progress report within one month, and the inspection group shall conduct a re-review to determine whether the mid-term inspection is passed. If the assessment result remains C or D, necessary measures shall be taken for follow-up, and further inspections shall be conducted regularly.
5.Colleges shall report the summarized results and relevant measures taken to the Graduate School.
6.Students who fail to participate in the mid-term inspection on time without valid reason shall have their thesis defense postponed for three months.
