On January 18th, 2015, School of Natural Sciences held a meeting about international students teaching in Room 501, Teaching Building No. 2 on Xianlin Campus. Professor Li Lei, Dean, and Professor Wen Yong, Secretary of Party Committee, and Associate Professor Bao Gang, Vice Dean, and Professor Tang Jiashan, Vice Dean, and teachers responsible for international students mathematic and natural sciences courses attended the meeting. Prof. Wen Yong, Secretary of Party Committee, presided over the meeting.
Secretary Wen forwarded the spirit of international communication and cooperation meeting, and introduced NUPT’s requirements for international students’ cultivation. Vice Dean Bao introduced the history and development of international students in NUPT. Vice Dean Tang introduced the preliminary work NUPT has done to recruit international students, including helping schools to complete degree maps, arranging teachers for mathematics and physics subjects, organizing trial lectures and preparing textbooks, etc.
Teachers who taught international students for last semester introduced their teaching work, including students’ English language level, knowledge related to the courses, characters related to international background, teachers’ methodology and teaching effects, and suggestions in teaching and management. Teachers for next semester introduced their preparation and thoughts on teaching.
Dean Li gave a concluding speech, saying it is an honor as well as a responsibility for School of Natural Sciences to participate in international students teaching and cultivation. He hoped the teachers attach importance to the work and do their best to contribute to NJPT’s internationalization.
