Because some undergraduate international students currently owe a lot of credits, these students have difficulties in courses, if they continue going to higher grade, which seriously affects their further learning and even graduation. In view of this situation, the College of Overseas Education implements the regulation regarding repeating the year for undergraduate international students.
1. Application Time:
Around the end of August or the beginning of September, the students will get an academic performance report and notice of repeating academic year. The specific time is based on the notice of the Academic Affairs Office.
2. Regulations of Repeating The Year
If the credits owed for Compulsory Courses and Distributional Electives are >= 22, the 2nd grade undergraduates can not upgrade to 3rd grade | Minimum standard: GPA>=1.0 Attendance rate>=50% |
If the credits owed for Compulsory Courses and Distributional Electives are >= 22, the 3rd undergraduates can not upgrade to 4th grade | Minimum standard : GPA>=1.0 Attendance rate>=50% |
3.Procedures
The International Student Office will count the credits owed for the second and third grade students in every September, and list the name of the students whose credits owed reach 22. After review by College of Overseas Education and relevant major colleges, and approval by the International Affairs Department and the Academic Affairs Office, these students will repeat the year. The maximum length of study period for undergraduates is 6 years, including repeating the year and suspension time. The maximun application for repeating the year is 2 times, Otherwise he or she can only apply for wind up one's studies or quitting school.
4.Fee for Repeating the year
International students who repeat the year will not enjoy any scholarships, and need to pay the full tuition and accommodation fees by themselves. The students also need to pay additional course retaking fee if the course opens for other grades’ students. Course retaking fee— 100 Yuan / credit.
5. Withdrawal regulations
If the cumulative GPA for the academic year < 1.0 or the attendance rate for one semester < 50%, then the students will be withdrawn from school and can not apply for repeating the year. The withdrawal regulation is effective for all undergraduate international students.

关于本科留学生编级管理规定(试行)
由于目前部分本科留学生欠学分很多也可以继续往上升级,学生在低年级学习就有困难,升级后学习困难更大,造成累计欠学分越来越多,最终严重影响毕业甚至中途辍学。鉴于此,海外教育学院提议实施本科留学生编级制度。
1、编级办理时间:
每学年8月底—9月初,具体时间根据教务处的编级通知。
2、编级规定

3、办理流程
留学生教学秘书每年9月份统计二年级和三年级学生的学分,列出符合上述编级条件的学生名单,经过海外学院和专业学院审核、国际处和教务处批准后,编级学生留在下一级学习。本科生最长学习年限为6年,包括编级试读时间和休学时间。学生编级次数不能超过两次,超过两次编级的留学生可申请结业,未到达结业条件,则按退学处理。
4、编级收费
编级的留学生不享受任何奖学金,需要自行缴纳全额学费和住宿费,重修的课程不在编级的年级还需要另外缴纳重修费,重修收费标准:100元/学分。
5. 退学规定
所有年级本科留学生累计学年的GPA<1.0 或者学期出勤率<50%,则达到退学条件,不可进行编级试读。
