1. Time Arrangement
In the first half of 2026, there will be three batches of thesis similarity testing and blind examination for Master's students. Master’s international students of 2023/2024 (including those who have not graduated in the previous years) can choose the appropriate time for thesis defence according to the progress of their thesis. The meeting of Academic Degree Evaluation Committee of the university will be held in Early-mid June and Early-mid July to review the list of degree conferment. The detailed schedule is shown in the table.

2. Graduation Qualification Examination
The Graduate School will conduct a graduation qualification examination for the class of 2023/2024 and previous non-graduated master's international students before 13 March, and only those who have passed the graduation qualification examination will be allowed to enter the thesis similarity testing session.
3. Thesis Similarity Test
The Graduate School conducts thesis similarity tests on Mondays of Weeks 6 and 14 and Wednesday of Week 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the academic calendar. Graduate students are required to submit their thesis electronically and ask their supervisors to complete the online review before this time. Fo master's students majoring in science and engineering, the overall copy ratio of the tested thesis < 20% is regarded as passed; for master's students majoring in arts and sciences, the overall copy ratio of the tested thesis < 25% is regarded as passed, and all master's students failing to pass the thesis similarity test are required to participate in the blind review of the university level.
4. Thesis Evaluation
The evaluation of postgraduate thesis is blind, which is divided into university-level blind examination and school-level blind examination. The university-level blind examination is organized by the Graduate School, and all the thesis that have not been subjected to the university-level blind examination will participate in the school-level blind examination organized by schools. All master's students whose thesis fail the similarity test will participate in the university-level blind review, and the Graduate School will announce the list of university-level blind review before 20 March. The Graduate School will conduct the blind review on Thursdays of Weeks 6 and 14, and on Saturday mornings of Week 10, at 10:00 a,m. of the academic calendar. Students are required to submit the electronic version of their thesis for blind review and ask their supervisors to complete the on-line review before this time. The notification of the blind review will be based on the notification from the academic school.
5. Registration of Academic Achievements
All postgraduates are required to register all the academic achievements obtained during the study period in the Smart Campus Postgraduate System before applying for the defence, which will be examined by the supervisor and the college, and the paper materials will be submitted to the college for examination at the same time. Failure to register the academic achievements in the system will affect the degree application.
6. Completion of Degree Conferment Information
Graduate students log in the graduate system to complete the degree conferment information, which will be used for reporting the degree conferment information to the Ministry of Education, so please make sure to fill in the information carefully and truthfully.
7. Thesis Defence
Graduate students submit the thesis defense application in the graduate system, and the formal defense can only be conducted after it is approved by the supervisor and the college. Graduate students who intend to apply for the degree to be conferred in June are required to complete the thesis defence before 26 May, and those who intend to apply for the degree to be conferred in July are required to complete the thesis defence before 23 June.
8. Review by Degree Evaluation Sub-committee
Each sub-committee of degree evaluation will audit the degree applications. The first meeting of the sub-committee shall be held before 31 May, and the second meeting of the sub-committee shall be held before 28 June, after which the relevant materials must be submitted to Graduate School in time.
9. Approval of University Degree Evaluation Committee
The University will hold a meeting of the Degree Evaluation Committee in Early-mid June and Early-mid July to approve the list of degrees to be conferred.
